The Role:
The roles of this position are:

•As Coach to lead and develop the new Shift Supervisors and Control room operators. This coaching should cover mainly Operation practices and activities, with important support for commissioning. The focus will be on competent, safe and efficient working methods.
•As Shift Supervisor is responsible for the safety of the site and ensures the efficiency of IS CPF operating activities.
•As Control Room Operator to monitor and control from the control room plant operating parameters in accordance with the prescribed conditions in normal operation.
•Responsible for application of HSSE practice and COW system.

Key accountabilities:

• Demonstration of site HSSE Leadership.
o Work in strict compliance with SFDP/HSE rules.
o Input into daily and weekly safety meetings
o Ensure Control of Work procedure is rigorously followed and understood.
o Regular auditing of site HSSE systems such as Permit to Work, Isolations and plant registers.
o Area Authority responsibilities
o Responsible for the management of production equipment.
o Ensure the safety of working areas,
o Exercise its role as a member of ICT Team
o React immediately in case of emergency for the first actions,
o Participation and support of investigation into any HSSE incidents or accidents.
o Sharing of lessons learnt with site team.


•As Shift Supervisor:

o Leads a multidisciplinary team of technicians,
o Ensures that all activities are conducted in accordance with procedures previously approved
o Ensure the achievement of daily production volumes,
o Supervise and coordinate the multidisciplinary operating team
o Oversees the operation of facilities and pipelines in accordance with the procedures
o Attends daily coordination and planning meetings.
o Identifies problems regarding operation of facilities and recommends corrective actions,
o Supervise the startup and shutdown of production,
o Input to commissioning activities where requested


•As Control Room Operator:

o Leads a multidisciplinary team of technicians,
o Starts and stops the production from the control room,
o Shall maintain the optimal operating conditions of the facilities,
o Instructs technicians working on operating facilities whenever it deems necessary,
o Is in constant communication with the teams working on wells and / or pipelines.
o Is in constant communication with other operating sites,
o Keep a record of operating facilities.
o Reacts immediately to any incident in the plant,


•Coaching of Algerian Shift Supervisor and Control room operator to develop competency and wider engineering skills:

o Through on-the-job training and coaching
o Specific projects aligned at development
o Management of audited development plans for site technicians and interaction with Training and Development department
o Developing and drawing up an training plan and producing suitable training materials (course content) for Control room operator and Shift Supervisor
o Coach/Train a Control room operator to a level of expertise where they have the theoretical and practical skills required to operate with full responsibility in normal operations.
o Conduct and follow up of Southern Fields (SF) OPS competencies according to the Company CMAS (Competency Management & Assurance System).
o Record and archive training plan, training program, training materials, employee list that are trained, results of evaluation and training.

•Application of Continuous Improvement to identify opportunities for improvement and work to resolve them.
•Areas for improvement may include:

o HSE, Reliability or Quality improvements
o Performance monitoring
o Operating procedures and practices

IMPORTANT:

• Good written and spoken English and FRENCH. Ability to speak Arabic is an advantage.
• Certified medically fit for rotation work in harsh environment (desert and remote areas).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Essential Criteria and Qualifications:

• Preference: Qualified to degree level in Process Engineering or related discipline with 5 years Oil and Gas Experience.
• Alternatively, trade qualification with 10 years Oil and Gas experience.
• Detailed knowledge of the process and operating systems of hydrocarbon processing units and utilities,
• Good knowledge and practical experience of industry Oil and Gas practices.
• Very good communication skills and team leadership,
• Spirit of organization and planning,
• Strong knowledge of Operations and Pre-Ops commissioning
• Good knowledge of work control systems, isolations and emergency response.
• Strong coaching and leadership skills and ability to work with all field departments and contractors.
• Personal commitment to hands-on HSE leadership in all aspects of role.
• Experience in coaching in overseas national organisations.
• High level of computer literacy including (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint , MS Outlook)
