The role is based in Grande Prairie

The Role:
The Control Service Technician (CST) is responsible for the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Automated Control Systems (ACS) for onsite MPD applications. Additionally, after training, will rig in the ACS along with sensors required to provide data for ACS as well as access and use of data from existing sources.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Set up CCS at well site.
Interface CCS with various data acquisition systems.
Carry out constant monitoring of equipment on location and maintain and calibrate on the job as required.
Perform diagnostics, trouble shoot, repair and maintain essential inventory and replacement parts for CCS, instrumentation, and flow controls.
Assist in operating and maintaining database and data collection at well-site and insuring proper and adequate data is collected and reported.
Assist in updating and calibrating CCS software to meet specific requirements.
Recommend and devise new approaches for new and existing equipment, software, and procedures.
Produce graphs for interpretation from raw text file data on a daily basis.
Maximize efficiency of equipment within operating parameters.
Assist in preparing end of well reporting.
Inform Field Foreman/drilling personnel of any changes in operating parameters.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

Understanding of PLC control systems.
Understanding of interfacing protocols, i.e. WITS and OPCC.
Ability to demonstrate a keen insight for the Control System.
Competent with Microsoft Office products.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Diploma in electronics, instrumentation, or related field or the equivalent in industry experience.
3-5 year’s relevant industry experience.
- Class 5 (non GDL) driver’s license with a clean abstract.
