The Company:
Our Client is one of the largest LNG producing company in the world.

The Role:
Proactive Obsolescence Management:
a) Review all the of Instrumentation and Control Systems and associated spares with specific exposure to Emerson systems
b) Prioritizing obsolescence tasks based on business impact
c) Review the spares/equipment details provided by data analyst, including the vendor’s information (e.g. Sr.no. Model no. Part no.).
d) Prepare vendor specific package and initiate communication with respective vendor, requesting him to provide the obsolescence status of the listed items. (Providing input whether they are obsolete, if not the future date of potential obsolescence item by item).
e) After getting the detail of obsolescence status from vendor, populate all items as per the obsolescence categorization table and evaluate using the impact matrix
f) Develop virtual obsolescence matrix of associated equipment in coordination with other discipline engineers
g) Develop obsolescence management plan based on the 13 factors guideline and obsolescence matrix
h) Carry out engineering feasibility study (eMOC) in coordination with required disciplines and develop mitigation solution for Obsolescence Management. Submit and get approval of the eMOC report.
i) Follow up, monitor and track for implementation of the obsolescence management plan and provide periodic management report with full ownership from beginning to installation
j) Based on kind of change (Like to like replacement/upgrade or Engineering) trigger disposal/ de-commissioning, if required, and input to the budgeting process appropriately.
k) Support evaluation of the technical bid for the new projects with respect to obsolescence dates/status of proposed for the new equipment/spares and provide recommendations based on virtual obsolescence matrix of the respective equipment/system

Reactive Obsolescence Management:

a) Receive obsolete item feedback during ongoing procurement or purchase agreement of spares/equipment
b) Utilize the impact matrix to set up priority for mitigation actions
c) Develop obsolescence management plan based on the 13 factors guideline and obsolescence matrix
d) Carry out engineering feasibility study (eMOC) in coordination with required disciplines and develop mitigation solution for Obsolescence Management. Submit and get approval of the eMOC report.
e) Follow up, monitor and track for implementation of the obsolescence management plan and provide periodic management report with full ownership from beginning to installation
f) Periodically review the obsolescence status and based on impact ratings managed the obsolescence
g) Update the latest obsolescence status.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
a. Engineering degree in Electronics or Instrumentation and Control Systems

b. Minimum 10 years’ experience in instrumentation and control system design engineering, commissioning and maintenance with at least 7 years in the Oil and Gas or similar industry.
c. Understands international (IEEE, IEC, AGA, ISA etc.) and Qatar gas instrumentation standards and carries out instrumentation sizing calculation and able to use related software tools.
d. Exhibits good knowledge on field instrumentation (transmitters, control/SD valves, analyzers, F&G detectors) DCS, ESD/F&G Systems, Package PLCs, Anti Surge Control Systems, Metering Systems, Turbine/Compressor Control Systems, Real Time Information Systems and various types of control schemes/principles. Specific exposure to Emerson systems is an advantage.
e. Strong analytical skills.
