The Company:
Our client a UK based refining and marketing company, have interests in a number of facilities in the United Kingdom, employing around 1000 people throughout the UK and over 33000 worldwide. They have had their presence on Teesside for over 30 years, processing and storing crude oil ready for shipment along with being an established supplier of bulk fuels, including LPG, to the commercial, aviation and marine industries.

The Role:
•Working within a small team which is responsible for the upkeep of critical systems which are vital to the safe and efficient operation of the Facility.
•Responsible for providing technical expertise/assistance for maintenance and development of plant control systems including DCS, SCADA, Telecommunications, Access Control systems, Fiscal Measurement Systems and for minor I & C project design.
•To interpret job requirements from drawings and / or other specifications.
•Participation within the control systems emergency callout rota to ensure 24/7 support to the operation of the systems
•Active participation in site Health, Safety, Environment and Quality management which includes ISSoW, PSI, Risk Assessments Method Statements etc,
•Work with outside agencies and contracting companies. (eg NPD and Ofcom).
•Candidates must be team players and have strong communication skills with other departments particularly Operations
•System fault finding & safe implementation of acceptable solutions.
•System testing and commissioning
•Ensure all agreed PCR modifications/changes comply with site procedures and working instructions and have the required as built documentation and PM’s in place.
•Accountable for the communication of all safety-related issues to team members and associated contractors.
•Deputise for Control Systems Supervisor when appropriate.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
An excellent attitude towards safety, leads by example, including the use of PSI.
•Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.
•HNC/HND in relevant discipline required, Degree in relevant discipline preferred
•Extensive RS3 and DeltaV experience preferred.
•Telecommunications and CCTV experience desirable.
•The ability to coordinate with different work groups to ensure safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment.
•Skills in the following areas: delivering presentations, knowledge of IT, communication, interpersonal skills.
•SAP computing skills required – Maintenance & Purchasing
•Knowledge of Fiscal measurement systems preferable.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Desired Experience Level
•Extensive DCS experience, ideally in a Petrochemical or Oil & Gas environment.
•Time-served Computer, Inst or Elec. Technician/Engineer
