The Company:
Our client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions the transmission and distribution industry

The Role:
To provide a best in class technical support service to all delivery channels used by the sub Business Unit. This includes leading a small team that develops and delivers specialist applications and provides a technical support service to support a growing business.

Key Responsibilities and duties:

• To shape the framework of the technical delivery from the Business Unit to all channels internal and external
• To provide pre and post sales support to the sales team with technical presentations, solution development, and proof of concept against specifications.
• To provide quotation support against customer enquiries from internal and sales team requirements.
• To direct and develop the specialist technical team to support the business needs
• To develop and own the technical policy for the Business Unit, including selecting which technologies to promote and support in the UK
• To work with sales and business management to identify small systems with high potential to deliver a differentiated offer from the company
• To work with the Business Unit globally to identify applications for which solutions have been developed elsewhere in the world which can be deployed in the UK
• Torepresent the BU in a technical network of support engineers and consultants, in other parts of the organisation to deliver solutions to other internal and external channels for the deployment of control system products providing advanced support on specialist applications (e.g batch)
• To assess the technical options of product delivery available to the BU and to work with their respective management to improve the technical competence.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A good team player and support focused specialist
•At least 10 years experience of control systems product range more recently 800xA
•Takes clear ownership of issues, committed and tenacious in approach to deliver solutions for both the client and 3rd party partners
• Goodcommunication, networking and presentation skills.
• Able to interact with confidence with business and sales management and to convert market feedback into an appropriate technical solution
