The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
Develop integrated solutions or systems by leading and managing the execution of one or more complex R&D projects or a program to meet project targets. Work in partnership with business managers, steering groups, product management and external parties and ensure value creation. Provide the technical solution and coordination for all software and controls engineering activities in projects.

Responsible for all controls elements of the project/s. Motivates and leads internal and/or external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones.
Manages the controls / project team allocated to the project, defining, with key stakeholders, the scope of work, cost/budget, resources required, time schedule and detailed work allocation. Monitors and controls project cost and financials. Formalizes acceptance of the project and brings all the project elements to a conclusion. Ensures project results are transferred to relevant line organization or department responsible. Captures lessons learned.
Ensures project follows sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with standard internal directives and procedures. Ensures projects follow external standards etc. that influence activities and targets.
Identifies, contains and reduces risk. Ensures appropriate handling of change requests. Ensures transparency around unforeseen results/events and identified risks and makes sure that they are properly prioritized, managed and communicated.
Uses own technical domain knowledge to provide technical support to colleagues or other functional teams.
Ensures understanding of customer value. Takes into consideration requirements and demands coming from customers and from different functions (sales, supply, production, etc.). Acts to ensure customer satisfaction and expectations.
Serves as the key contact for the project stakeholders. Effectively communicates appropriate information to stakeholders in a timely manner and to achieve desired understanding and support.
Manages relationships with stakeholders, internal functions, other R&D teams in Technology Centre and/or Corporate Research Centres and external relevant parties (e.g. customers, academia).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Software Engineering or Controls (B. Eng or M. Eng) qualification
• Robotics application / integration experience: machine vision, grippers, robot programming.
• Solid software development and integration background
• Experienced project engineer with 5 - 10 years of track record of leading complex R&D/engineering projects
• Good communication skills and able to present in a professional manner
• Creative thinker and problem solver
