Our Client is the largest LNG producing company in the world, with an annual LNG production capacity of 42 million tonnes per annum (MTA), safely and reliably delivering LNG to customers around the globe from world-class facilities in Qatar.
*Lead the Control Systems and Telecommunications Engineering efforts for the execution phase of the offshore installation of the project.
*The Control Systems and Telecommunications Engineer will be based at the EPCI contractor's offices and then follow on to oversee the installation of the facility.
*Primary responsibility is the review of all control systems and telecommunications engineering deliverables of the EPCI contractor and provision of timely guidance to the EPCI contractor on all control systems and telecommunications engineering related matters.
*Review of DCS supplier design documentation and incorporation of DCS design into the detailed project engineering.
*Review of vendor design documentation and incorporation of vendor's design into the detailed project engineering.
*Support the other PMT engineering disciplines and construction, commissioning and operations teams
*In conjunction with the Project Interface Engineer, Interface with the company's Engineering and Operations departments to ensure integration with existing systems and smooth implementation of new systems.
*Reports to Engineering lead
*Coordinates the control systems and telecommunications engineering design of the EPCI contractor and the DCS supplier
*Reviews and monitors project electrical control systems deliverables, vendor data and design changes.
*Coordinates the control systems and telecommunications engineering aspects of the project to ensure the technical objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule.
*Monitor EPCI Contractor's performance and provide advice as necessary to ensure Company's design philosophy and specifications are achieved.
*Monitor and review Contractor's control systems and telecommunications engineering construction effort and make recommendations to Project management.
*Provide timely review of Contractor's control systems and telecommunications designs.
*Provide technical support and advice to project procurement and construction activities.
*Monitor Contractor's and vendors' quality control effort.
*Provide start-up and commissioning support to company.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
*Minimum of twelve (12) years technical experience in control systems and telecommunications engineering discipline with minimum five (8) years specific involvement in project design, procurement, construction, and start-up for major oil and gas process facilities. Brownfield experience is essential, Offshore experience preferred.
*Minimum of five years' experience in the engineering of oil and gas facilities in the Middle East
*Knowledge of Emerson and Invensys DCS equipment will be an advantage
*Familiar with applicable international codes and standards.
*Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
