The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This role will be essential to deliver both external and internal communications activities at the individual manufacturing plants.
It will provide external communications support to deliver corporate news stories to promote the manufacturing plants in local, national and international media (print, online, broadcast & social media).
In addition, it will deliver local internal channels and support communications at a plant level.
The role will see time split between the assigned manufacturing plant and HQ.
There will be a requirement to support PR activity at other UK based sites as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills both spoken and written.
Excellent media handling skills.
Commercially astute used to working in a business environment
Able to negotiate and influence at a senior level within the organisation
Knowledge of key communications and engagement practices both tactical and strategic
Experienced in events management
Strong ability to organise self, and prioritise workload in order to meet tight deadlines
A good level of IT competence is required in programmes such as Excel, Word and Power Point
3+ years PR & communications experience
Handling national print & broadcast media
Working in stand-alone communications role with large organisation and/or a diverse customer group
Managing sensitive communications issues
Automotive environment
Working in an unionised environment.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Develop and implement a communications plan for each manufacturing plant, consistent with overall manufacturing PR objectives.
Assist in the establishment and effective communication of manufacturing key messages, especially to support the individual plant activities.
Initiate, research and write press materials to ensure a proactive presence on the desks of business and other correspondents.
Identify and exploit opportunities to generate positive media coverage about successes and achievements (& for use in internal communications where appropriate).
Generate content to support, the twitter feed and additional social media channels as appropriate.
Provide logistics support for media and VIP visits to the plants (both brand and corporate media).
Co-ordinate media visits & events onsite to generate positive media coverage about successes and achievements.
Cultivate relationships with national and regional media to ensure a proactive presence in the
