The Role:
The Corrosion Control Document Development Facilitator role is responsible for developing corrosion control documentation (CCD) and establishing related operating variable limits for integration into the operating procedures. The process will include planning and facilitation of multi-disciplinary process system reviews, capturing of information, writing CCDs and following the status of integration into operating and other site procedures.

Experienced in petrochemical and/or refining operations, highly skilled at group facilitation and experienced in writing operating procedures. Expertise in corrosion control is beneficial but not essential as other team members will possess these skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Facilitator will coordinate development of the CCDs, working with multiple sites and in multiple units at once. They will collect data, write and/or edit the CCD and facilitate the Damage Mechanism Review. They will work with each Unit’s team to finalize the CCD and track sites implementation status.

• Master Editor and main author of the CCD. Information sources include:
o Operations manuals
o Data collection spreadsheet
o Leverage CCD from other sites
• Data collection
o Populate data collection spreadsheet with data from Meridium
o Identify existing operating windows
o Identify injection and mixing points
o Identify chemical additives
• Meet individually with Operations, Inspection and Corrosion Engineer to gather data
o Set deadlines and define data needs
o Initial write up damage mechanism descriptions
• Facilitate generation of Corrosion Loop Diagram
• Facilitate generation of Material of Construction layer on PFDs
• Set up and facilitate damage mechanism reviews
o Typically multiple meetings
o Ensure all aspects are covered per CCD guideline
o Capture and track action items identified
• Follow up with site implementation of CCD implementation checklist

KEY COMPETENCIES:

• Highly organized and experienced in group facilitation (e.g. PHA leadership)
• Ability to convert ideas into clear and concise instructions that can be incorporated into site procedures.
• Understanding of the basic functions and construction of petrochemical processing equipment such as piping, valves, vessels, columns, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, etc.

Excellent writing skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the refining, petrochemical, or chemical process industries
• Experience in effectively organizing and facilitating group reviews
• Must have, or be eligible to acquire, TWIC certification.
