The Role:
The Cost Analyst will play a key role in delivering a complete suite of cost-control services, analysis and financial support for the Operation and Finance departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage department cost control strategy, plans and procedures, reflecting both the client and contractor roles and responsibilities;
• Adhere to the financial, business and project processes;
• Address issues pertaining to projects cost control procedures;
• Collect and compile progress and cost data, and develop cost-control worksheets and reports for review by delivery teams;
• Provide cost input to commitment close-out process;
• Review and audit contractor cost control procedures and practices;
• Perform quality assurance on contractor cost-management performance;
• Review financial data related to accruals, invoice payments, purchase orders and material deliveries and other financial data;
• Prepare monthly Value of the Work Done reports;
• Provide cost input to and implement the cost element of change management procedure
• Coordinate and develop project annual-spend projections, cost reconciliations and variance analyses;
• Prepare project authorization for expenditure (AFE) in concert with the Operations Department management and monitor AFE approval process;
• Assist and prepare cost performance management data;
• Provide interface to other functions and teams to improve processes, resolve conflicting priorities and ensure adherence to best project practices;
• Work with Finance function to ensure implemented processes conform to internal control requirements;
• Develop and issue various reports to appropriate stakeholders;
• Work with the department management or Financial Controller and accounting function to ensure adequate financial controls.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered for the role of Cost Analyst, applicants must have the following experience/ qualifications:
• Extensive project cost control or project financial management experience on large scale projects;
• Experience of working with cost management tools;
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines;
• Ability to recognize and solve problems;
• Great communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the business;
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously;
• Analytical ability;

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Arabic language skills are desirable, but not required.
EDUCATION: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required

LANGUAGES: English fluency required Intermediate level professional position requiring a Bachelor’s degree and experience unless otherwise noted.
