The Company:
Our Client is a global Energy Leader with a strong commitment to Honest and Ethical Business Practices within the Oil and Gas Industry. Our Client operates as an independent energy company. It has four segments: Oil and Gas, Syncrude, Energy Marketing, and Chemicals. The Oil and Gas segment explores, develops, and produces crude oil, natural gas, and related products.

The Role:
Assists the Business Process Team Lead and the Project Manager to implement recommended changes.
Promotes changes to business processes to ensure effective cost management.
Accountable for developing the cost management capability throughout the organisation.
Develops/refines business processes to support cost estimation, cost phasing, cost control, cost risk reviews and cost management
Develops/refines reports to support the process
Develops and maintains training material, assists managers in assessing and improving end user competency, and provides training or advice as needed
Responsible for implementing improvement initiatives, leveraging an understanding of how processes transcend department boundaries and impact other functions in the organization
Works with process owners and business leads to assess cross functional process & performance
Where an opportunity is identified, works with key stakeholders to map the as-is and further define issues and opportunities to measurably improve processes and cost management performance. A key component of this is ensuring alignment amongst departments with respect to process improvement initiatives identified.
Identifies viable alternatives, work with stakeholders to choose optimal solutions, and assists business groups with implementation of those solutions
Determines SAP system enhancement requirements to support the business process improvements, including cost benefit analysis
Identifies and develops process-related KPIs and metrics
Pro-actively maintains the integrity of documentation held in the UK Management System

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Significant relevant experience in upstream oil and gas, preferably in a Cost Engineering role
Detailed working knowledge of SAP
Relevant degree or equivalent experience
Key behaviours are high motivation, initiative, and a customer orientated positive approach
Must be able to work independently, balancing competing priorities
Team player, with strong relationship building skills. Able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus
Proficiency with the MS office suite of applications and strong SAP skills
Extensive project experience and knowledge in developing Cost Reporting to suit various projects and operations
Conversant with all the key facets of typical upstream O&G project and operational activities i.e. AFEs, Budget, Variations, VOWD Forecasting, Work Order Management, and Change Management
