The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.
In Australia they are involved in one of the largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in FEED (Front End Engineering Design) Stage.

The Role:

Our client are currently recruiting for a Cost Controller - SPS. The primary function of this position is responsibility for the Project Cost Control functions within the SPS package during the execution phase of a Project.

Key responsibilities of this position include:
Performing as a focal point of costing work in SPS Team.
Establishing and maintaining appropriate costing philosophy and methodology for SPS.
Follow up and assistance of cost control and reporting in the project function areas (particular monthly cost report).
Maintain cost control related data in cost control system.
Prepare all information required on a timely and accurate basis.
Assessment, Recommendation and Implementation of Project Budgeting and Cost Control.
Participate in establishing and maintaining Cost Control Systems.
Development of work procedure and guidelines.
Provide the proper guideline to relevant Vendors/Contractors.
Development, Review, Analysis and Maintenance of Budget, Commitment, VOWD and Forecast in Cost Control System.
Progress and performance measuring by Earned Value method.
Verification of invoices.
Interface with accounting system.
Implement and Coordinate Interfaces and Review Meetings with SPS project team.
Prepare forecasts and perform cost analysis for Project Cost Reporting and Cash Flow Estimates.
Participate in establishing and management of Variation Orders.
Establish good cost records for benchmarking.
Provide back up in other areas within the Department as directed.
Provide professional support/advice to SPS team in terms of Cost Control requirement and principal.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The following Qualifications and Experience are a requirement of this position:

University graduate with experience cost control in Oil & Gas Industry.
Cost control experience in EPC project.
Familiar with central project cost control procedures with previous employment in Client/Operating Company organizations.
Excellent hands-on experience in cost control and proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Have sufficient knowledge and background to identify potential cost control issues / mitigation measures and have the skills to prepare succinct analysis.
Demonstrated abilities to analyze in detail, identify options and recommend logical solutions to deviations/problems.
Ability to create/update cost control methods, procedures and work instructions to reflect the latest project execution philosophies.
Have good communication skills and the ability to prepare and present reports both internally and externally.
