The Company:
My client, a leading oil services company with operations worldwide is looking to recruit a Contracts Engineer

The Role:
Purpose / Role

• Ensuring effective control and reporting of project costs in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures.


Key aims and objectives

• Ensuring that project cost control and reporting is undertaken in a consistent manner and reported in accordance with policies and procedures.

• Maintain and generate accurate cost reports in a form and frequency that ensures those managing the project/ budgets have clear understanding and visibility of the status of expenditure against budgets.


Prime responsibilities and duties

• Maintain and promote a safe working environment

• Preparation and maintenance of project cost control structures

• Monitoring and reporting of costs against Project Target Cost Estimates (TCE’s)

• Allocate costs to appropriate AFE / Cost Centres

• Generating accurate, monthly cost/ manhour reports for all project activities including, where applicable, Client commitments, accruals, actual expenditure to date and forecast final expenditures.

• Create and maintain robust change management processes

• Ensure agreed changes are recorded on a project change register and that applicable data is incorporated into monthly cost reports and forecasts.

• Provide expert advice where requested to validate expenditure including onshore and offshore manhours, actual costs (including vendors and materials) and onshore sub-contracts.

• Provide accrual information to Commercial Administrator in support of internal cost/value reporting activities

• Undertake regular reviews of expenditure against progress and latest estimates by activity, and assessing the impact of cost over/under-runs by preparing trend analyses and options.

• Actively participate in the following meetings - project progress meetings, change control meetings, KPI/ Incentive return meetings, project delivery and cost departmental meetings.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent in Business Studies /Accountancy

• Excellent PC Skills
• Degree Qualification

Experience
Essential:
• The candidate must have the ability to produce detailed cost reports that can be substantiated and be able to present them in a professional format to the required level of accuracy.

• Appreciation of the importance of cost data collection and analysis.
