The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
Fircroft have been asked to source a Cost Engineer to provide support to the verification of contractor progress claims / applications for payment.

• Work on a major LNG project in Queensland
• FIFO to Gladstone (28/9 roster)
• Long term contract role (12 to 24 months)

The Cost Engineer will provide input into cost trends and report directly to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain the project cost break-down structure in coordination with work and organisational structures and accounting processes in liaison with the appropriate functions and managers
• Prepare and maintain project cost procedures, and provide input to other relevant project documentation
• Provide accurate and timely project cost reports, verifying cost performance against plan, and identifying areas of potential budget overrun requiring corrective action

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Educated in an engineering discipline (first degree preferred, HND minimum or equivalent)
• Chartered member of a relevant engineering institution, or equivalent, preferred
• Technical professional with proven experience in cost engineering and with delivery of projects
• Has verifiable performance and delivery experience in a number of responsible project assignments, including cultural or geographical variation
• Proven record in the successful cost control of major oil and gas projects in challenging environments, including management of contractor performance against these costs
