The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
Roration: 21/7 to Chinchilla
• Prepare, operate and maintain the in-house project cost system PCMSi
• Prepare and maintain the project work and cost break-down structures (WBS & CBS) in coordination with work and organisational structures and accounting processes in liaison with the appropriate functions and managers
• Maintain project cost procedures, and provide input to other relevant project documentation
• Provide accurate and timely project cost reports, verifying cost performance against plan, and identifying areas of potential budget overrun requiring corrective action
• Input expenditure data for the project monthly report
• Monitor and review the expenditure elements of contractor performance throughout the contract life-cycle; recommend corrective action where necessary
• Prepare earned value (EV) analysis in conjunction with the project planning engineer
• Participate in cost risk analyses and support schedule risk analyses
• Work with the cost estimator in the development of project estimates including additional scope and/or variations
• Support internal and partners’ project cost reviews and approvals processes
• Produce and maintain annual budget cost estimates submitted for annual work program and budget approval cycle in conjunction with the finance function
• Ensure project outturn cost data and lessons learned are fed back to internal project stakeholders for the benefit of future projects

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Technical professional with proven experience in cost engineering and with delivery of projects
• Proven record in the successful cost control of major oil and gas projects in challenging environments, including management of contractor performance against these costs
• Has some awareness of at least one of the Company’s technologies eg: E&P/LNG
• Educated in an engineering discipline or relevant tertiary qualifications held (first degree preferred, HND minimum or equivalent)
• Has verifiable performance and delivery experience in a number of responsible project assignments, including cultural or geographical variation, working as a team member
• Had successful interaction with range of stakeholders including joint venture partners
• Has a good insight into the market and is able to assess the commercial impact of engineering and project decisions on project attractiveness
• Understands the impact of strategic considerations on business decisions and has led negotiations with
