The Role:
The Cost Engineer is responsible to provide cost engineering services to the Projects Department. The scope will cover the provision of cost engineering services from inception to close-out of Purchase orders and contracts.

• To work in accordance with the company’s project department management system
• Monitor costs of AFE’s after Sanction;
• Provide input where required into Invitations to Tender (ITT) and bid enquiries for direct procurement by Project. Assist in the review of potential Contractors and Suppliers where requested
• Maintenance of Cost Trackers and Reporting spreadsheets to Company standard and/ or Project specific Cost Breakdown structure;
• Checking, verification and recording of all project commitments in conjunction with Project Managers and Contracts Analyst and in accordance with project services guidelines;
• Checking ,verification and logging of all project invoices;
• Reconciliation of expenditure and accruals between Cost Trackers & Reports and Company accounting and management reporting systems, including input of monthly re-forecasts;
• Review of vendor variations in conjunction with Contracts Analyst;
• Provide monthly project cost reporting with revised forecasts/budget and explanation of any deviations between actual to date and budget date; revised forecast against previous forecast for the current financial year and for the total project; revised forecast against approved budget; revised forecast against as bid;
• Assist with input to Company Annual Plan (Budget) and ongoing reporting against same in conjunction with Finance Team;
• Assist Greenfields Project Cost Engineer in establishing annual Capex and G&A budgets;
• Prepare value of work calculations, including accruals for Work in Progress, for accrual purposes and incorporate into Project & Corporate systems
• Assist the Greenfields Project Cost Engineer in the preparation of the Monthly Project Status Report for presentation to Manager of Projects & Developments and Budget Holders;
• Ensure early identification of potential cost over-run and reporting of this to the Project Manager;
• Liaise with Asset Accountants/ Business Analysts as required;
• Other ad hoc cost/ financial matters as required;
• Supervision, and training of Cost Engineer’s technical assistant.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Ability to work with minimal supervision, on a number of projects covering both Topsides and Jacket workscopes.
