The Company:
is a large international operator working on major projects

The Role:
Initially Dubai based with business trips to Iraq. Role will change to Dubai - Iraq weekly commuting as soon as accommodation has become available in Iraq (currently foreseen in Q4 2014)

·         Deliver consistent but appropriate cost management structures for projects
·         Contribute to defining the project baseline for cost control and reporting
·         Review / Challenge contractor cost reports / data

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
1. Perform a variety of cost control tasks in support of the control of BGC’s projects, including preparation of budgets, planning of commitments and VOWD, calculation of VOWD and Forecasts.
2. Analysis of cost developments including reporting of cost trends.
3. Contribute to the roll-out of BGC Cost Control standard, tools and processes.
4. Prepare and implement of the Cost and Work Breakdown Structures.
5. Prepare and implement WBS and set-up Work Orders and CTR's.
6. Review / prepare monthly cost reports, including analysys of actuals versus plan and budget.
7. Report cost trending / cost trend reviews in association with forecasting and contingency management.
8. Perform and report Earned Value
9. Ensure maintaining realism in the cost forecasts.
10. Ensure maintaining consistency in cost bases by rigorous adherence to the controls processes.
11. Coach and guide the more junior cost engineers

The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties.

1. Engineering Degree and or Certification as a Cost Engineer or equivalent experience
2. Minimum 8 years industry experience in cost engineering positions
3. Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills
4.Fully versed with Cost Control principles and techniques
