The Company:
Our client is a nuclear specialist, covering both civilian and defence sectors, across the complete lifecycle from New Build, through Operations and Maintenance, to final decommissioning and waste disposal.

The Role:
• Assist in improving and maintaining the quality and performance of cost control processes and systems
• Prepare, monitor and forecast Project budgets for the project ensuring that the cost estimate is consistent with the scope of work and delivery schedule
• Take a proactive role to assist in ensuring that methodologies are in place to provide accurate EAC cost forecasts.
• Monitor actual performance, record trends and maintain the trend log with all supporting information and data
• Examine databases to obtain true spends against the project
• Assist Senior Cost Engineer and Project Controls Manager to explain in detail the Period, YTD and year end SVs, CVs, SPIs and CPIs, including significant variances
• Prepare cost reports identifying critical areas and providing trend analysis and early warnings.
• Analyse and examine financial data to identify variances and to develop appropriate mitigation strategies in conjunction with the project team
• Assist in the financial management of subcontracts, assessing payment applications, collecting data in accordance with contract requirements, supporting the preparation and evaluation of Compensation Events.
• Assist in project sanction compliance monitoring costs and spend against Limit of Liability.
• Liaising with and assisting planning department in carrying out EVA.
• Managing and implementing Project Controls change management procedures.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Preparing and presenting information, written and numeracy skills, technical background, contractual expertise, analysing and interpreting data, team player, language skills, and leadership.
• BSc (Hons) Degree in Quantity Surveying or suitably trained in cost control / cost engineering processes; 5 - 10 years on-site experience working for a major contractor involved in large infrastructure and power plant projects.
