Our client is a leadiong global oil and gas operating company.

The Role:
TAR Cost Engineer

The TAR Cost Engineer provides cost control support in accordance with best practices and Company procedures. The position is responsible for cost tracking, analyzing and forecasting and assists in the development and delivery of TAR cost estimating, forecasting and performance management reports and other budget support activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Implement and maintain common cost tracking system and processes and interface with Finance and Contractors as appropriate
2. Assist in the development of TAR project estimates and forecasting consistent with funding constraint and TAR project WBS/CBS
3. Coordinate and develop TAR spend projections/forecasts, cost reconciliations and variance analyses for cost performance reporting
4. Conduct cost risk analysis and coordinate the development of risk mitigation recommendations
5. Collect and analyze input data from TAR Cost Analysts to issue cost reports and support the Cost Analysts in the collection of required TAR cost input data for cross functional resources, such as Operations, PSCM (contracts/materials), engineering, etc. to produce the cost reports
6. Assist in revisions of authorization for expenditure (AFE)/financial authorization (FA), as needed
7. Provide oversight of contractor cost-management/cost control procedures and practices
8. Adhere to Company financial, business and TAR CVP processes and requirements

Knowldege, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience in large project budget and financial reporting management
• Cost and financial management experience on large projects
• Moderate or better experience level with cost management tools
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Ability to recognize and solve problems

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in related field. Proven equivalent working experience may be substituted, subject to vetting of expertise demonstrated
• Four years of experience in cost controls
• Experience with cost management for Turnaround (TAR) projects preferred
