The Company:
Our client is one of the worlds largest providers of technical services across a wide range of sectors, including nuclear.

The Role:
The role of the CS&A Department is to support Process, Mechanical and Electrical Department requirements. The main hazards associated with the work include high levels of radioactivity and contamination.
Responsibilities are as follows:

•To work within the Project CS&A design team in the delivery of sound, fit for purpose solutions.
•Work as part of an integrated multi-discipline nuclear industry-regulated Project team.
•Progress CS&A design records; to include civil and structural calculations, drawings, specifications, report documents and spreadsheets.
•Prepare/check structural and civil calculations and supervise CAD Designers preparing GA’s and detail drawings. Sufficient CAD ability & willingness to change or modify drawings as necessary would be useful.
•Assist in preparation of specifications, scopes of work, method statements and assessment reports
•Support engineering reviews and safety assessments
•On-site building walk downs/surveys to support design
•On-site building visits to assist Construction process & resolve TQ’s and queries
•Perform other duties that may be requested by the CS&A Responsible Engineer

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Key Skills and Competencies Preferred for this Role

•HNC/HND (minimum)
•Some ability in CS&A engineering design work
•Experience or knowledge of Construction processes and techniques
•Knowledge of CDM and design responsibilities
•Nuclear engineering experience preferable but not essential
•Good working knowledge of Microsoft based software; Word, Excel and PowerPoint etc.
•Experience of accessing and working on network based records
Ability and keenness to interact with Construction team at all levels to help ensure that work can proceed promptly and that design intent is maintained

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
UK Government SC Clearance
Monitored Worker status
Training and SQEP to wear PPE including Respirator & PVC suit for up to and including C3 areas & Safety Harness
