The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
My operator client is currently seeking applications for a Commissioning Start Up Engineer to perform a FIFO 12 month contract to Barrow Island.

The position reports to CSU Lead Electrical Engineer and acts as focal point and a System Owner for acceptance, Commissioning and Start up activities for electrical equipment in Utilities, Acid Gas Removal Unit (AGRU), Jetty and Material Off loading facilities. You will also liaise with construction, quality, site engineering, non-electrical system owners, completions team and operations to progress commissioning and start-up of Utility systems and LNG Plant

Breakdown of Duties include:

15%
• Champions safety behaviours, lives and believes the principles of an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) workplace. Meets IIF Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set for the position

85%
• Provide Electrical expertise to ensure all pre-commissioning and commissioning deliverables meet the required specifications, quality and standard expectations in order to achieve regulatory compliance
• Direct liaison with counterparts in Completion, Construction and operations to progress the work to meet project mile-stones/ schedule requirements
• Witness Initial Inspection and Test Record execution on a sample basis to ensure the completions process is being effectively implemented
• Verifies Non-conformance raised and make a call in line with relevant procedures/ Standards to progress the commissioning including assigning appropriate punch list category and sub-sequent close-out verification
• Recommends improvement initiatives both safety and technical.
• As a System Owner, Interface with planners for activities inclusion in project schedules, review Discipline Acceptance Certificates, Punch lists, Exceptions, Ready For Commissioning (RFC) Certificates and completions dossier completed correctly
• Review CTPs to verify and update for the applicable changes to the assigned system before commencement of commissioning activities

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Minimum of 10 years relevant, practical experience, including experience in working with/influencing EPCM contractors in executing commissioning activities.
•A strong working knowledge of Electrical Equipment and power system related to construction verification, commissioning and start-up activities.
•10 years engineering experience
•Strong organisational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential.
•Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards is essential. Practical working knowledge of relevant Western Australian Electrical codes and standards
•Competency in understanding complex electrical systems such as: power distribution systems; power generation; power management systems based on Gas Turbine Generators is essential.
