The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
Phase 4: Commissioning & Completions (40%)
Together with the CSU Lead I&C Engineer and peers, the Instrumentation Engineer position shall be responsible for assuring the success of the Commissioning Contractor and for identifying and providing mitigations to any barriers to that success within the discipline area.
• Maintain visibility of Instrumentation status against project schedule. Works mitigation plans to address schedule threats;
• Act as a focal point for Instrumentation Commissioning-related issues, directly liaising with Commissioning counterparts and embedded staff in the fabrication yards;
• Coordinates and helps develop work list for instrumentation commissioning activities;
• Endorses procedures for the commissioning of Instrumentation
• Provide Instrumentation expertise to assure all Project Commissioning deliverables meet the required specifications and Quality standard expectations. Including effective management of change;
• Develops and monitors system through assurance processes to ensure equipment and data is accurate for handover and conduct selected review and audit prior to acceptance sign off, witnesses tests as required
• Responsible on behalf of the Asset Owner for handover and acceptance of engineering related deliverables from Gorgon Project to Operations;
• Recommends improvement initiatives both safety and technical;

Phase 4, early Phase 5: Operational Readiness & Start-Up (40%)
Advocate technical integration within the Instrumentation areas of responsibility, through interface management and the development /execution of robust start-up plans for the Gorgon LNG facility on Barrow Island, Australia
• Provide Instrumentation technical expertise to team and across interfaces;
• Oversee the development of start-up table top exercises and OTS start-up cases. Participate in OTS training as necessary.
• Provide discipline specific expertise into Integrated Start-up logic, risk and schedule development.
• Support MOC framework and process
• Review and participate in the execution of Start-Up plans and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient start-up of the Gorgon Integrated assets.
• Provide input and support the development, alignment and execution of operational performance testing framework and plans.
• Develop understanding of and mitigate key risks to enable a successful start-up Ensure project risk register is up to date and that assigned actions are closed out to meet the handover area (HOA) deadlines.

Incident and Injury Free (IIF)/Incident Free Operations (IFO) (15%)
Implementation of IIF/IFO culture across Scope.
• Work with CSU peers to ensure that OE/IIF expectations are met
• Be proactive in promoting IIF/IFO safety culture.
• Search out and apply safety lessons learned.
• Provide guidance and experience to assist engineering, operations, and maintenance leaders in diagnosing and correcting operating problems associated with static equipment
• Review changes in upstream/downstream testing procedures, start-up and operations procedures.
• Participate in PSSR and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) as necessary.

Mentoring Personnel: (5%)
Provide technical mentoring within the Completions and Start-Up Team as well as externally to the Gorgon Operations – Production & Maintenance Team and Facilities Engineering Team. Provide technical training as necessary to support Operations OC build

Candidate Requirements
This position requires technical and operational insight and experience to develop and implement required deliverables for handover. Must be able to work closely with the Gorgon Commissioning Team, project team, Support teams as well as the Gorgon Operations Team to implement robust handover/acceptance process. Be able to leverage client and industry best practices.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum Qualifications: Relevant Engineering/Science Degree
• Minimum of 7-10 years relevant, practical experience, including experience in working with/influencing EPCM contractors in executing commissioning activities.
• Strong organisational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Fully competent with all aspects of field instrumentation utilised in gas processing applications including specification, installation, commissioning and trouble-shooting
• Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards is desirable. Practical working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards
• Competent Control systems and facilities. Creative thinking is required to facilitate solutions in the field.
• Experience with Functional safety and working knowledge of IEC 61511
• Experience with Yokogawa control systems including Centum VP and Prosafe RS desirable
• Experience with Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) desirable
• Experience with Process
