The Company:
Our client, a major owner/operating company, requires expertise for their ongoing oil sands mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
As a CSU Lead Planner your main duties:

•Ensure that the established planning and scheduling methodology is followed by the Commissioning Team in developing project plans and schedules
•Facilitate interactive planning sessions
•Providing support to the CSU Lead and Commissioning Team on all Planning and Scheduling issues
•Work with the Commissioning team to ensure plans are realistic and achievable
•Manage interfaces between contractors, construction, project leads, and operations regarding planning and scheduling.
•Develop, prepare and maintain an integrated system commissioning schedule.
•Integrate data from commissioning contractors to update the overall master schedule.
•Prepare bi-weekly schedule reports, including variance analysis, critical path analysis, schedule forecast updates and schedule contingency management.
•Prepare bi-weekly progress reports, including S-Curves, Manpower Histograms, productivity curve and project issues, concerns, and mitigations.
•Perform probabilistic analysis on integrated schedules and contractor schedules and perform contingency determination
•Ensure contractor compliance with established scheduling methodology and manage contractor performance.
•Assess and incorporate the impact of approved changes and any deviations from project targets and milestones, including productivity monitoring and identification of alternate approaches to optimise the plan(s)
•Plan and prioritise own work and that of the CSU Planner(s) so that parallel activities are all completed in a timely manner
•Work with Fabrication and Construction Planners on execution strategies to help provide optimal solutions and eliminate errors
•Support the overall CCP Lead Planner in project specific activities such as writing procedures, resource planning, establishing policy, budgeting, recruitment etc, to support the drive to continuously improve and optimize the operation of the department
• Proactively identify and highlight any progress issues which threaten successful delivery of the project, so that recovery action may be taken
