1st tier automotive supplier

The Role:
The Major Account Controller prime role will be to organise and motivate the supply chain team that ensures, for the major Aftermarket Businesses, the availability of components to customer schedules, progressing the materials from suppliers through production to delivery whilst maintaining minimum stocks and financial administration accuracy. They will also be responsible for the progressing of Requests For Quotation (RFQ) and their subsequent realisation into production. The secondary role will be to control the transport of all materials from suppliers ensuring full recovery of costs incurred.

• To lead the customer supply chain team
• Downloading and analysis of the Planning schedules resolving variances of insertion or deletion, using information from the Customer Portal adjust those schedules to ensure minimal overstocking results whilst complying with future EDI call off with minimal risk of defaulting
• Ensuring with the team that all customer requirements are matched to available stock or ordered parts supply and expedited with suppliers where necessary to ensure timely delivery.
• Ensuring with the team that all MOQ supply issues are identified and resolved in order to minimise inventory yet maintain timely pack supply and on time performance to customers
• Produce the arrears analysis on a monthly basis, raise and issue production orders, liasing with shop floor Team Leaders.
• Maintain our SDPR (or equivalent) rating with their customer
• Arrange and monitor all collections for the aftermarket business and ensure that any cost incurred are fully recovered
• Assist the finance department with any aspects of their account when required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• The ability to use a variety of IT tools to analyse and present data – spread sheets, data bases etc.
• At least 2 years experience in automotive parts procurement, and supply environment.
• A team player with a high level of energy, commitment and personal/professional integrity.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and work across departments and with customers.
• Sound working knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• A full driving licence.
• Good secondary education with GCSE Maths and English, preferably educated to degree level

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Proven knowledge of MRP based computer systems preferably using BAAN.
Completed the CIPS Foundation course
