The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
As Principal Machining Manufacturing Engineer, you'll lead a small team of engineers in the design, development, installation and launch of quality-focused, efficient machining production processes for our new engines. In doing so, you'll play an integral part in the development of our plants and our rapidly-expanding future.

Key Tasks: -
* Leading the planning, process design and development of complete machining production facilities globally, that meet our quality, volume and cost goals whilst delivering operational excellence
* Leading the procurement and management of multiple machine tools covering a wide range of processes including 5 Axis CNC machining, Assembly Machines, Leak Test equipment and High Pressure Final Washes.
* Leading a team responsible for installing, commissioning and launching machining production facilities at customer plants worldwide
* Leading the development of standardised machining process strategies and procedures for replication within Global Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering
* Identifying and driving robust resolution of product design manufacturing feasibility & manufacturing process issues
* Introducing innovative new technologies into our manufacturing processes to improve safety, productivity, quality & cost metrics
* Driving continuous improvements in investment efficiency, process stability and robustness, flexibility & manufacturing cost per unit within and between engine programs

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Proven experience of facility installation, commissioning and launch would be highly desirable
* Strong track record of working in a team to meet tough deliverables in Powertrain or associated disciplines
* Knowledge of high-precision machining processes is essential
* Knowledge of 5 Axis CNC machining, Assembly Machines, Leak Test equipment and High Pressure Final Washes.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are vital
* Flexible regarding work location
* Role will be based at Whitley, but travel to other sites will be required.
* Regular travel abroad on company business.
