The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
This Perth based 12 month position will report directly to the Data Management Coordinator and will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise to the subsurface data management program, applying data management best practices.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensure subsurface digital data stores and systems of record are managed effectively and in line with corporate standards and customer satisfaction
• Work closely with a range of data types including: geological, geophysical, petroleum engineering data, and/or well planning, drilling and completions data
• Act as first point of contact for exploration and production data management tasks
• Liaise between the subsurface asset teams and Information Systems for subsurface data management activities
• Assist with the preparation of data packages for joint venture partners and data rooms as required
• Commitment to health, environment and safety and Chevron best practices

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
To be considered for this position you will be degree qualified in Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering or Information Technology ideally.

Additionally you will possess:

• 5-10 years experience in a similar position
• In-depth knowledge of upstream technical data management issues is essential
• A strong practical background and extensive experience in one or more of the following subsurface data management activities: data loading, data formatting, data quality management, data standards (including governance and information risk management), data integration workflows
• Experience in the reporting of data metrics and capacity planning
• Strong Unix skills applicable to disk and data management in an operational environment
• Strong knowledge of Petro-technical software packages including OpenWorks, SeisWorks, PostStack, Petrel, EPOS, Eclipse, Petrosys, Geolog, GOCAD, EDM/EDT, WellView, Energy Components and their associated data stores
