The Company:
Our client is a fully-fledged provider of EPC field development projects as well as engineering, technologies, solutions and services for the upstream oil and gas industry. Their range of offerings include deepwater drilling technologies, subsea oil and gas production systems, well services, mooring and offloading systems, wellstream processing technologies, as well as life-of-field solutions through its maintenance, modification and operations business.

The Role:
The role involves the examination of fundamental communications characteristics of communications devices and both open and proprietary protocols in the context of subsea production control systems in order to predict the performance of the communications system and its implications for the overall control system.

It includes the application of established generic mathematical modelling techniques to system specific configurations and offers the potential for the verification, validation, continuous improvement and extension of those techniques to different areas of the production control system, for newly developed or incorporated devices and for characteristics of the system not currently within the scope of the capabilities.

There is also future scope for assessment, selection and possible development of simulation tools to further expand the suite of analysis techniques that can be used for appropriate characterisation of the systems under consideration.

• Respond to tasking requests and reporting progress to the Discipline Principal Engineer.
• Delivering the timely issue of analysis reports for the Analysis discipline.
• Handling discipline specific external & internal communications for the Analysis Team.
• Familiarity and compliance with company procedures, project specifications and statutory regulations so that a standard approach to design is adopted whilst satisfying customer requirements.
• Conducting tasks within agreed time scales and budgets and reporting status and deviations to the Discipline Principal Engineer.
• Ensure documents are fit for purpose & meet all client requirements.
• Awareness of lessons learnt from all previous company projects & implementation.
• Participate in Technical Forums in the Analysis discipline.
• Provide support on technical development issues relevant to Data Transfer Analysis
• Engineering duties on Tendering, Study and Project work, including advising on system specification, documentation and report progress to the Discipline Principal Engineer.
• Ensure system & components are fit for purpose & meet all statutory requirements.
• Participate in system design at system design reviews & ensure that work package design achieves system requirements. When required to provide support to sites within UK or internationally

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
>Degree or HND/HNC and professional experience in a relevant discipline
>Extensive theoretical and working knowledge of Communication Protocols for Subsea Production Systems preferred.
>Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
