The Role:
Database (Tool & Data) Problem Analyst, Tester & Trainer

Description:
1) On Exomars Rover project: To investigate, record, correct & validate the fix for Database Tool & Data problems as provided by the project DB Architect. The investigation will require experience with working with engineering data at functional level (the function of the data) down to bit level (knowledge of data types, endian etc). The corrections will require script writing in Java code (scripts to be written in Java some good programming skills, albeit 'object orientated' knowledge a secondary need). The validation is simply to check & record the problems have been fixed.
Input: Problem tickets to be fixed from RVDB Architect
Output: Validated re-usable fixes for Problem tickets
Reporting to: RVDB Architect

2) Process Improvement (Testing & Training):
I. To create DB related test specification & procedures for Database improvements, organise a review with 'DB Architects' (as specified by the 'DB Process Owner') for feedback, update accordingly and to get 'peer' sign-off (DB Process Owner & DB Focal Points), execute test and record results in test reports, re-execute/re-report when any bug fixes have been made by the DB tool developer
Input: Scope of function under test (e.g. Spec, IRD)
Output: Validated function & Test Report
ii. To create DB related training specifications from an existing "DB Training Module Framework", create draft training material (including 'Trainer Notes'), organise a review with 'DB Architects' (as specified by the 'DB Process Owner') for feedback, update accordingly and to get 'peer' sign-off (DB Process Owner & DB Focal Points) and organise & perform an initial 'trial' training along with "candidate future trainer" to get feedback & 'handover'
Input: DB Training Module Framework, Priority of training modules
Output: 'Validated' Training Material (e.g. slides, wiki ...), including 'Notes for Trainer' for DB Training Module
Reporting to: RVDB Process Owner

- Working within a test environment
- Producing & providing training to others

- SQL

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- PL-SQL
- VBA
- Database Data Management - within an engineering context
- Training Experience
