The Company:
Our client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions the transmission and distribution industry

The Role:
Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Control Systems Engineer that has direct experience of both DCS and QCS. The successful candidate will be homebased and visit a number of key clients in Kent, and they are willing to consider candidates who live in or around Sussex, Surrey, London and Essex.

Key duties:

 Configures, maintains and services systems and QCS products.
 Provides Hardware support on site for QCS and DCS equipment, including preventive and corrective maintenance, spares management and other system healthcare activities, including out of hours support.
 Provides application support to customers, on site and by remote link
 Devises, prepares and presents Operational reports
 Provides High level field and in house technical support, including out of hours support.
 Fulfils maintenance contract obligations .
 Promotes company products and services in conjunction with Sales and Account managers
 Prepares and delivers training courses on relevant areas of expertise.
 Commissions equipment in the field.
 Advises clients as to maintenance procedures, evolution, site planning, operational methods, process measurement and control.
 Assist Sales and Account management with preparation of quotations.
 Carries out feasibility studies on behalf of Clients, and recommends courses of action in order for client to overcome plant, quality and control problems.
 Be available on an ‘on call’ basis to advise customers out of hours and, if necessary, make unscheduled site visits, whether or not formally on call.
 Travel to site anywhere in the UK for above activities.
 Prepares and writes technical reports for internal and external use

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
 Degree or HND in Electrical or Measurement & Control Engineering
 Strong experience of DCS Systems
 Clean Driving Licence (UK)
 Self Motivated and able to work unsupervised
 Demonstrate excellent customer focus.
 Good networking skills.
 Results orientation.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
 Knowledge of Paper Industry
 Knowledge of QCS or OCS systems
 Commercial awareness
