The Company:
Our global leading client is seeking highly skilled, experienced & capable contract international employees to work on a large multinational complex oil & gas project.

The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Deck Construction Structural Engineer to provide discipline specific support and advice to construction team on site at Topside Fabrication Yard for Structural and Architectural disciplines.

In Design Office
• Assist with preparation of documents for Fabrication RFP
• Assist with review of bid submissions and provide technical input to contractor selection
• Provide construction input to detailed design where required
• Participate in HAZID meetings
• Participate in Model Reviews
• Assist with preparation of plans and Schedules to provide ROS dates for design deliverables and materials (bulks and equipment packages)

At site in Baku
• Promoting project HSE objectives.
• Review of AFC design documents.
• Review and approval of yard upgrade procedures.
• Participate in task risk assessment meetings.
• Responding to engineering site queries, where applicable.
• Expediting site query response from design office, where applicable
• Providing engineering assistance to the construction contractor for resolution of issues
• Witnessing and approving site acceptance tests.
• Attending Mechanical Completion walk-downs on behalf of AIOC
• Review and acceptance of contractor procedures for fabrication assembly, erection and load out of the Topside structure.
• Participate in interface meetings with T&I contractor, Marine Warranty Surveyor and ATA and assist with coordination and resolution of issues relating to load out and sea fastening of the deck.
• Monitor contractor performance and highlight any concerns to line manager.
• Attending project meetings as required.
• Compilation of reports as required.
• Encourage development of Azerbaijani National Personnel.
• Provide advice coaching and training for Azerbaijani National personnel.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience on Oil and Gas Construction involving:-
o Experience of temporary works design
o Familiarity with International Standards which form the basis for project specifications e.g. API, ASME, EEMUA, ISO
o Familiarity with the Production Methods and Welding Technology as used in the Offshore Fabrication Industry and NDE methods applied to ensure quality standards are met.
o Experience of rigging methods and equipment. (Heavy lift experience would be most useful)
o Experience of Task Risk Assesment, HAZID, PTW

• University Degree in engineering, Civil or Structural preferred.
• Alternative qualifications can be considered with relevant experience.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Competent in communicating in English language.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Good inter-personal skills.
• Ability to produce written reports.
• Computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power point and Autocad.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
