The Company:
With interests in over 20 UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) fields, my Client has one of the most significant exploration and production businesses in the offshore waters of the UK.

The Role:
The Decommissioning Environmental Advisor is accountable for managing and providing specialist environmental support to all Asset. This is a significant role in terms of setting environmental strategies for decommissioning.


Key areas of jobs scope are:
•Adopt a key role in developing environmental policy and strategy for UK Decommissioning Projects.
•Lead role in application the Environmental Management System for decommissioning activities.
•Represent on industry Decommissioning forums, regarding environmental matters
•Provide assurance that environmental issues, aspects and impacts regarding decommissioning projects are managed.
•Provide advice and guidance on Legislative Compliance and implications for decommissioning projects.
•Manage environmental permits and consents and compile external and internal reports.
•Manage the preparation and execution of EIAs, ESs, PONs and other environmental studies and documentation.
•Develop stakeholder management process for environmental matters within decommissioning.
•Support the Decommissioning Manager with development of BG Way approaches to decommissioning. This aspect includes the opportunity for involvement in scopes within global operations from Aberdeen.

Key accountabilities

•Provide expert environmental advice, support and guidance to EE&P decommissioning projects.
•Develop and implement Environmental Policy, Strategy and Programmes for decommissioning projects.
•Co-ordination of external studies and environmental surveys.
•Act as focal point for identification and management of environmental activities within each phase of the decommissioning project.
•Input to project risk registers regarding environmental matters.
•Ensure all activities identified as required by way through the VAF process are undertaken.
•Identify decommissioning environmental risks and provide assurance that they are managed.
•Develop environmental input to Permits, License, Authorisation and Consents Register (PLANC register), assuring monitoring of progress.
•Performance Monitoring and Reporting on Environmental Permits and Consents associated with decommissioning scopes.
•Manage scopes of work contracted to external consultancies, including comparative assessment and Environmental statements etc.
•Lead environmental resources supporting decommissioning activities.
•Provide assurance of environmental compliance, including environmental auditing.
•Act as a focal point for decommissioning external Stakeholder Liaison e.g. DECC, JNCC, O&GUK , SEPA and relevant local authority.

What we are looking for
•Extensive experience of E&P offshore activities and environmental management across the lifecycle
•Extensive technical knowledge and experience of Environmental Management and Assurance Systems, Tools and Techniques
•Expert knowledge of UK Environmental Legislation
•Degree educated.
•Professional delivery of projects, operations and joint ventures.
•Timely delivery of environmental input to business processes.
•Understands and manages environmental risks.
•Professional environmental advice.
•Ability to communicate relevant information to a variety of audiences.
•Creative environmental problem solving.
•Embeds environment in business processes.
•Ability to analyse problems and develops appropriate business solutions.
•Able to create good relationships within the Asset and with external networks including Government organisations.
•Well developed sense of team working and shared achievement of team targets.
•Able to enhance Asset environmental competence and influence as an internal and external advocate.
•Ability to effectively engage with and influence upper management.
•Well developed leadership skills, particularly with HSSE practitioners.
•Performance and customer focus.
•Ability to coach and develop.
