The Company:
Our Client is one of the world's leading integrated energy companies and have developed some of the world's most complex crude oil fields. They have a strong position in nearly all of the world's key basins, and their extensive project portfolio provides the foundation for future growth.

The Role:
This position will be our Client's on-site representative and manager to ensure rig site operations are carried out to plan with primary focus on safety and environmental concerns. The DSM manages contractors to ensure they meet or exceed operational expectations during execution of plans. The position also liaisons with Our Client's non-rig team members to participate in planning, as appropriate, and to ensure effective communication.

Drill Site Managers are primarily assigned to drilling operations and require skills predominately related to drilling wells. The DSM will also supervise completion operations when the drilling unit is utilized for completions. The Consultant Deepwater/Offshore Drill Site Managers may be assigned to a variety of well work operations including workovers, completions and other well intervention operations.

The work schedule for this Consultant Deepwater/Offshore DSM position will be 28 days on/28 days off, with travel time on the consultant’s days off.

Our Client is requiring applicants to agree to stay on assignment for a minimum of 12 months.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

• This position will require demonstrated operational experience in a challenging and remote location.
• Works in a team environment to ensure the safety of all personnel on location and compliance with all applicable government regulations.
• Supports and actively participates in Health, Safety and Environment efforts to achieve goal of zero incidents
• Manages on site day to day operations on drilling, completion, intervention and workovers in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assists in the review and development of detailed rig site procedures based upon the drilling program
• Manages day to day activities of rig contractor personnel and third party contractors.
• Mentoring of national DSM’s
• Manages logistics for personnel and equipment to and from location.
• Provides accurate daily reports to superintendent.
• Maintains accurate cost control.
• Participates in all risk assessments required for the situation and assist in all Management of Change (MOC) development, review and approval. Participates in root cause analysis (RCA) for significant HES and OE (Operational Excellence) events on the rig.
• Participates and actively support the capturing of Lessons Learned (LL).
• Development of long lead item equipment and materials lists.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A valid Well Control Certificate is required for consideration of this position.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• A valid passport issued from country of citizenship.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in on site supervision of deepwater drilling operations in remote locations.
• Strong communication skills are imperative.
• English language skills. Language skills other than English are not required, but will be a plus.
• Strong emphasis on safety of personnel and assures compliance with all applicable environmental regulations & policies.
• Demonstrated ability to apply new technology.
• Experience in mentoring and training local crews and less experienced personnel.
• Possesses good organizational, analytical and communication skills
