The Company:
Our client is a major operator in the oil and gas sector.

The Role:
Main Function:
To assist Construction Manager to manage on safety, quality, timely completion and cost of the replacement construction work of a gas terminal. This includes: participation in assembly of the necessary construction & QC team; constructability reviews during design phase; fabricator / contractor selection and prequalification; preparation of RFQ documents; evaluation and recommendation of award of construction contractor; mobilization of personnel to site(s); ongoing management and supervision of the construction, through mechanical completion and preparation for commissioning.


Key Roles and Responsibilities:
• Participate in construction execution, which includes constructability review plan, construction planning and sequence, the management systems and staffing through which the ‘build’ will be completed.
• Influence design engineering work to ensure all objects are arranged and designed for efficient prefabrication, handling/ lifting, assembly, mechanical completion, testing and pre-commissioning
• Assist Construction Manger to recruit site team personnel.
• Interface with engineering and construction contractor, in particular on instrumentation and electrical installation and materials management.
• Coordinate site survey activities.
• Implement all construction site logistical that associated with mobilizing site teams, including offices, IT, transportation and accommodation arrangements, emergency evacuation procedures, and medical facilities.
• Participate in pre-qualify subcontractors
• Compile scopes of work for contract documentation; specify RFQ requirements and reviews draft contract terms. Participate in bid evaluation work for primary construction contracts.
• Assist Construction Manage to implement site Safety Management System.
• Participate in Implement site QA/QC Management Systems; utilizes 3rd party specialist contractor services as appropriate.
• Responsible for review of contractor’s schedule & planning basis (norms). Ensure veracity of progress statements. Specify & negotiate progress recovery measures with contractor as appropriate.
• Monitor prospective technical and commercial changes within the contract and verify authenticity of contractor requests for change orders. Responsible for quality assurance and verification of all on site contractor change requests and claims.
• Provide oversight to construction contractor progress

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualification Requirements:
Education: Engineering or Construction Management Bachelor Degree.
Less formal education can be compensated with documented relevant experience.

Experience: Minimum 15 years of major international oil / gas project experience. Competency in construction site management. Working knowledge of British onshore engineering & construction codes and standards. Some experience of and aptitude for working in a diverse cultural environment.
