The Role:
• Develop and update detailed execution plans for all phases of the project, so it becomes a tool used by all team members to define directions and guide decisions.
• Ensure that all internal and external stakeholders have adequate opportunity to provide input, comments, endorsements and approvals.
• Supervise and coordinate the efforts of the Contractors selected to execute the various activities so they perform diligently all the obligations under the contract defined for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction.
• Ensure that adequate evaluations of the project are performed with the participation of qualified personnel during the sessions. Also ensure that all resulting actions are pursued and resolved, and documents are updated.
• Implementation and maintenance of project quality, scope, cost and time controls
• Review design documents and shop drawing submittals for accuracy and constructability
• Initiation, review and timely resolution of RFI items
• Review of subcontractor change order requests and the processing and timely resolution of the change order requests to owner and the issuance of change orders to subcontractors
• Preparing and updating of project schedules
• Preparing and updating of monthly project cost status
• Project Safety and Hazmat compliance assistance
• Assisting in subcontractor outreach and bidding

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
• Completion of Honours Engineering Degree. Preferred Chemical Engineering.
• Certification or training in Project Management.
• At least 15 years experience in LSTK/EPC Projects.
• Minimum 5 years experience as Deputy Project Director of a job of similar size and complexity, in petrochemical plants and/or large construction projects.
• Previous experience working with and directing large International Companies/EPC firms as well as experience working in an International environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of downstream petrochemical and refineries.
• Thorough knowledge of FEED knowledge, construction management, contractual practices, inspection and safety standards in oil, gas and petrochemical field.
• The individual must have contractual awareness, planning with exceptional communication skills QA/QC (ISO9001-2000) & for safety OHSAS 18001 awareness
• Familiar with international codes and standards
• Proficient in oral and written English.
