The Company:
Our client is a global operator in the oil and gas sector.

The Role:
Reporting directly to the Transport Manager and working as part of the wider Business Support Team the Deputy Transport Manager is responsible for maximising the performance and efficiency of the client's Operating Organisation’s transport operation. With accountability for motivating and developing a team of local drivers and staff to ensure customer expectations are exceeded and targets met, the role will be both challenging and rewarding. The successful applicant will be expected to promote a team focus and develop a strong safety culture with the ability to mediate and encourage good employee relations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
 Effective leadership and management of the transport operations and teams.
 Maximising the efficiency of transportation plans and bus schedules.
 Delivering and exceeding customer expectations.
 Scheduling and reviewing driver’s rotas, plans and vehicle allocations and availability.
 Compiling reports and returns as required.
 Standing in for and supporting the Transport Manager.
 Following up and reporting on progress of vehicle repairs both heavy and light within the our client's Repair workshops.
 Ensuring that Parking Supervisors control parking effectively according to policy.
 Following up and reporting on the progress of requirement’s and requisitions for the transportation and associated departments.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
 Managing and leading multi-national staff in a challenging and developing environment.
 Transportation and operations management.
 Scheduling and producing driver’s rotas, transportation requests and bus timetables.
 Coordinating maintenance and servicing programmes to ensure vehicle availability.
 Developing and implementing transportation processes and procedures.
 Driver and vehicle safety standards.
 Good practical and technical transportation industry skills.
 Production and formulation of accurate reports and forecasts for management and departments.

 The ability to remain calm and work well under pressure.
 Self- motivated, with a positive outlook.
 Ability to become part of a multi-skilled, multi-national department team.
 Healthy and active.
 The ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload.

The role requires a strong communicator with excellent written and verbal English, basic Arabic would be a distinct advantage but is not essential.
