The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
To provide expert theoretical and practical Multibody Dynamic Analysis and services to the EF/P6 Design Analysis Department

Accountable for deliverables to a specified timeframe, quality and cost.
a. Ability to demonstrate deliverables status at any time with Key Performance Indicators.
b. Manage workload on a daily basis and respond to both long term and short term task requests.
c. Responsible for leading prompt concern resolution on existing processes, the coordination of resource, and ability to provide containment solutions when necesary.
d. Manage any outsourced work in the same technical area, including supplier management.
e. Manage budgetary requirements to meet KPI objectives.

Developing and maintaining specialist technical and business knowledge and capability, to ensure appropriate technical direction is provided.
a. Propose process and method improvements to develop departmental capability.
b. Ability to lead on technical direction working with other departments/Engineers.
c. Provide technical direction to other feature owners.
d. Provide technical input into concepts for future development.
e. Committed to own continuous professional development

Accountable for developing and influencing the strategic technical direction within specialist area
a. Demonstrate a broad awareness of process and operational requirements within the area.
b. Responsible for the delivery of attribute targets
c. Support and provide technical knowhow in relation to product planning.
d. Advise management of strategic opportunities in areas of technical expertise.
e. Develop and gain agreement for the strategic technical direction/Technical Roadmaps within specialist area.
f. Keep up to date with industry innovations and relevant Group technical roadmap deployment.

Maintain effective communication internally and within the Group.
a. Responsibility to ensure factual and effective communication is provided at all levels, including within all cross-functional working teams.
b. Participation and effective representation of function/Company in appropriate technical meetings.
c. Responsible for the collation and presentation of relevant data in order to consult and lead functional /cross-functional meetings.
d. Transparent issue escalation to senior management, accountable for identifying and escalating issues and risks to senior management
e. Develop relationships with counterparts in appropriate internal functions and the groups organisations, and provide relevant guidance to suppliers.
f. Make recommendations and effective presentations to the business in area of technical specialism, with the ability to explain and break down technical detail/direction.

Thorough knowledge of –
a. Chassis Control Systems
b. Vehicle Dynamics
c. Ride Comfort
d. Tyre mechanics
e. Elastro Kinematik
f. Demonstrable experience as a senior Multibody Vehicle Dynamics Analyst and partially Finite Element Analysis, preferably within an Automotive OEM, Consultancy or Tier 1 supplier.
g. Proficient user of ADAMS/Car/View.
h. Familiar with Matlab/Simulink.
i. Capable of macro writing in ADAMS and Excel.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Appropriate experience working in the Automotive Industry or related industries.
Experience of process from launch to production.
Strong influencing skills and communication, with a commitment to building positive relationships with other functions, and Group as an outward facing expert.
Ability to share technical knowledge effectively with others, coach and guide as appropriate.
Demonstrable experience of process improvement activities within the specific technology.
Good business awareness and ability to make and influence strategic decisions within business context.
Understanding and ability to demonstrate behaviours in line with the Groups People Framework.

Has demonstrable knowledge applicable to the technology areas in a relevant Engineering discipline to a higher degree level or equivalent.
Preferably Chartered Engineer, or with a desire to achieve/currently working towards Chartered status.
Proficiency in German language would be an advantage.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
The cycle plan and competitor products.
A proven knowledge of relevant departmental /Company systems and technical workings.
Understanding and application of all required sign off legislative and environmental requirements.
Demonstrable knowledge and application of Company problem solving tools and skills.
