The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
My client is looking to recruit an experienced Protection and Control Engineer who will be responsible for proactively managing, coordinating and reporting on technical solutions between multiple engineering teams, within the Power System Network Management business. The projects are all HV schemes working on 132KV and above.

Key duties will include:

• Proactively managing the information flow between multiple engineering teams, Management teams and customer stakeholders.
• Coordinate all technical detail across all current contracts.
• Report all technical detail to the Management team and customer stakeholders.
• Act as a focal point for all technical solutions as governed by National Grid’s TP141 Protection & Control Design Authorisation.
• Take responsibility for the compliance of all technical solution designs generated with current internal quality, and National Grid Transmission, Procedures and relevant ISO standards.
• Provide specialist advice, support and development, acting as the first point of contact within the role of Design Management for Protection and Control.
• Seek, research and communicate industry best practice.
• Adhere to and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) which are focused on project deliverables.
• Provide sound Design Management input into the tendering process, enabling a more efficient project capture and take an active role in growing the business.
• Adhereto engineering work breakdown structures, time estimates, forecasts and reporting deadlines within the role of Design Management.
• Reduce and eliminate engineering cost of poor quality activities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering related education or equivalent (HNC minimum qualification) in Electrical Engineering
• Membership ( or working towards) of relevant professional body e.g IET
• Strong design capability & experience in the engineering discipline of Power Systems
• Strong coordination and communication skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience within the Electricity Supply Industry
• Proven teamwork and collaboration skills
• TP141 Protection & Control Design Authorisation
