The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To provide expert theoretical and practical capability, to be aware of and to understand in detail, the latest developments in the relevant vehicle systems and to select and to engineer appropriate systems and components into the company's products.

POSITION IN ORGANISATION

- Report to the Functional Manager
- Will be required to direct technicians.
- Collaborate closely with other engineers, particularly those who are dependant upon their control devises to operate their components/ systems.
- Liaise with all levels in the business upto senior manager, particularly within purchasing, logistics, finance.

SCOPE OF JOB

- Responsible for developing and maintaining technical knowledge/ capability
- Responsible for defining and planning own work for approval by Technical Manager/ Functional Manager
- Responsible for CAD 3D packaging and 2D detail design of components and systems, which when introduced into production are safe, legal and otherwise fit for purpose (including satisfying product liability requirements) and represents the best compromise between company and customer needs.
- Responsible for structuring and uploading parts within CAD environment.
- Accountable for the timely parts release for parts release for prototype build and production, and for timely delivery of all product engineering activities required to achieve timely vehicle launch to quality and cost.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Appropriate engineering degree or extensive experience

EXPERIENCE

- Experience working within the automotive industry as a design engineer.
- Catia V5 experience is essential.
- Exhaust/ cooling/ HVAC design experience desirable.
- Graduates with a relevant final year project and work experience will be considered.
