The Company:
Our client a UK based refining and marketing company, have interests in a number of facilities in the United Kingdom, employing around 1000 people throughout the UK and over 33000 worldwide. They have had their presence on Teesside for over 30 years, processing and storing crude oil ready for shipment along with being an established supplier of bulk fuels, including LPG, to the commercial, aviation and marine industries.

The Role:
iSee is a web-based solution for data visualisation of geographic data. It currently allows users to view Risk data related to work activities on North Sea Platforms. Users are presented with drawings of platforms in ‘plan’ or ‘side’ elevation view and can identify where work/safety barrier impairments exist. iSee is to be expanded to provide visualisation of data from other sources and other facilities. The iSee Developer role will supplement the current pool of iSee Developers with an additional team member who will be working to deliver Teesside specific deliverables embedded in iSee.


Responsibilities will include:
- Coding of new components in iSee, using the existing iSee framework/API’s
- Work collaboratively with other iSee Developers, following Agile project management techniques.
- Attend and contribute regular developer meetings – daily/weekly via VC with Norway Development Team.
- Documenting modules developed within iSee OneWiki Portal
- Work with non-IT Subject Matter Experts to understand end-user-requirements and solve technical challenges.
- Work with team to roll-out solutions to end users. Workshop/Training Sessions + Production of Training or Reference Material


Qualifications/Experience

Basic/Required
- Programming Language
o C# (3+ Years’ experience)
- Components/Developer Tools
o Microsoft Visual Studio 2012
o Microsoft ASP.Net MVC 4 Framework
o Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 Core C# Framework
- Web Authoring
o HTML/CSS/JavaScript
- Database
o SQL (Oracle)
- Successful Candidate must:
o Take ownership of actions and follows through on commitments.
o Generates effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions.
o Builds positive relationships and work well with other software developers.


Preferred
- Developer Tools
o Less (The dynamic stylesheet language - LESS extends CSS with dynamic behavior such as variables, mixins, operations and functions)

Location/Travel

The successful candidate will be based at the Wynyard Office, will be required to work in another Teesside site. Also you may be required to attend bi-monthly meetings in Norway.


Duration

Appointment will be for 12 months. A review will take place towards the end of this period and a further extension may be considered.
