The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The validation engineer is responsible for delivery of the relevant DV activity for engine programmes to support engineering sign-off. They will lead specific development / durability activities, feeding the results back to the relevant customers ensuring these are delivered on time. They also support planning activity for future programmes. The engineer will have responsibility for conducting engine functional and durability validation, and durability sign off for all projects under the direct responsibility of the team. This requires a good understanding of engine design, development, calibration and problem solving. It is a day to day hands on role and the candidate must have test experience which reflects this.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Experience of engine testing either on dynomometers or in vehicle.
* Demonstrate the ability to lead the resolution of technical, business and process issues within a team environment.
* Good communication, interpersonal skills and self confidence are personal qualities needed to succeed, being self motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
* Knowledge and understanding of engine principles
* Ability to run, durability, performance, economy and combustion system development testing.
* Hands on engine testing problem solving experience including SWAT
* Ability to interact and communicate effectively within the team
* Ability to assimilate and analyse large quantities of data and post process using Concerto, Excel
* Good communication and presentation skills
* Co-ordinate engine build and test
* Educated to degree level in a suitable engineering discipline, or suitable previous experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Previous experience of Engine and Powertrain systems are considered desirable.
* A knowledge of vehicle systems would be beneficial.
* Good analytical skills & PC skills Excel, Word and Project Experience of using AVL Indimaster and Concerto data analysis software
* Working knowledge of gasoline and/or diesel engine, powertrain systems and calibration
* Disciplined approach on planning, prioritisation and records keeping
* Must have a driving license valid for use in the UK
