The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The HMI User Control Developer will be responsible for the concept development of the vehicle HMI projects, including Benchmarking, Wire-frame layout, logical structures, task flows and interaction principles for key user interface devices The scope includes Touch screens, switchgear and displays, Instrument clusters and other related user interface devices, both inside and outside the vehicle. Complete evaluations and user trials for both infotainment systems and other in vehicle systems. You will be responsible for generating initial HMI schemes, conducting evaluations and user trials using HMI prototypes and simulations, and producing reports and final HMI specifications. You will work closely with Design, Engineering, Marketing and programme delivery teams. Following up of issues to their resolution. Conduct benchmarking of automotive competitors and other consumer electronics devices. Production of formal reports.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
An understanding of human-factors in automotive design, new vehicles/infotainment technologies, HMI design.
An appreciation of CAD/CAE and Vehicle Packaging.
Ability to think strategically.
Confidence with good communication/presentation skills (verbal & written).
Persuasion & influencing skills.
Strong appreciation of customer expectations and experience of quality data analysis.
Strong commercial awareness/business-sense.
Sound understanding of good HMI & ergonomic design principles for vehicle systems user-interfaces.
Statistical analysis, problem solving & root-cause analysis.
Clear and concise communicator.
Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard.
Design & execution of usability experiments. Report writing.
Educated to degree level or equivelent in a related discipline.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Interpretation of customer quality data (e.g. JD Power).
Knowledge and interest in current and future infotainment developments.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to short timescales & deadlines.
Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised within the local team and interfacing across business functions.
