The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
1. Responsible for developing and maintaining technical knowledge and capability.
2. Responsible for defining and planning own work for approval by FM.
3. Responsible for design & development of Steering systems & components which, when introduced into production, will satisfy the specified performance requirements, are safe, legal and otherwise are fit for purpose (including satisfying product liability requirements).
4. Accountable for planning, monitoring and expediting all Bentley and Supplier test, validation and certification of systems & components to demonstrate successful achievement of (3) above.
5. Accountable for timely design release for prototype build and production, and for delivery of relevant Product Engineering activities required to achieve timely vehicle launch to quality and cost targets.
6 Responsible for carrying out required steering functional test work activities including actual vehicle testing and measurement. This includes data acquisition and analysis to provide confirmation of target achievements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Appropriate Engineering Degree, or acceptable National Certificate / Diploma and relevant experience. The applicant must hold a Full UK (or EU) Driving Licence. An additional high performance driving qualification and any track-based objective test work would be an advantage.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years’ engineering experience in chassis related design and development role.
Experience in Steering design and test work is preferred.
