The Company:
Our client is a leading UK based operator with oil and gas projects in multiple locations across Africa. Due to continued growth and to enable the support of offshore subsea projects we are now looking to appoint an experienced Development Engineer into a permanent role to be based in London

The Role:
The successful candidate will be tasked wit the following activity and responsibilities:

• Working within the exploration and team with input for development concepts on new projects
• Develop a knowledge base of subsea and SURF development concepts and technology
• Help assess the development feasibility of exploration plays and prospects ensuring consistent technology and cost bases to enable reliable comparison and ranking.
• Close co-operation with other business units to include teams covering exploration, subsurface and petroleum engineering teams and accounts
• Work as part of small team supporting development of FDP and cost databases, and be part of pre-FEED team when required
• Take ownership for cost and economic modelling and reporting
• Participate in, or lead ‘stage gate’ value assurance reviews for field development projects
• Prepare Basis of Design, scope of work, functional specifications, technical reference documents as basis for tendering concept studies (or pre-FEED) by consultants
• Direct and monitor the work of Consultants to ensure that the outcomes satisfy the technical, operational and project objectives with benchmarked costs and schedules

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
We are therefore keen to speak with candidates with the following skills and expertise:

• A relevant Degree in pipeline, mechanical or subsea engineering
• Chartered member of relevant professional body - preferred
• Significant experience of E&P operations gained with an Operator
• Project exposure to include deepwater with core discipline area of Subsea, Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF)
• High level knowledge in subsea architecture, impact of flow assurance and interface with production facilities
• Conversant with technologies and cost drivers for deepwater development (e.g. well count and well costs)
• Previous experience in leading concept studies with a range of technology solutions
• Conversant with economic modelling and screening parameters used by Owner/Operators (e.g. MCFS, EMV, NPV, IRR)
• Experience of cost estimation for conceptual field developments and pre-FEED facilities projects and knowledge of estimating
