The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Located within the Product Development, Powertrain department the PT-606 EMS APC team is responsible the advanced development activities for engine management systems. The team performs the upfront analysis and development of new features and technologies to enable their progression to the delivery teams. Using techniques such as Rapid Prototyping and Failure Mode Analysis, technology development engineers develop the software and hardware requirements to ensure robust delivery of the new features.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:
1) Project Management
2) Engine Management Systems
3) Failure Mode Avoidance

Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent subject.
2+ years experience in embedded systems development (e.g. engine management or equivalent)
Experience of using Failure Mode Analysis techniques to develop robust solutions (B-Diagrams, P-Diagrams, D-FMEA etc.)
Experience of authoring robust requirements for embedded control systems and software

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Embedded software development experience
Rapid Prototyping of Control Systems using MATLAB / Simulink
Rapid Prototyping of Engine Management Systems using ETAS eHooks or similar
Experience of working within a matrix structure delivering projects across organisational boundaries.
Experience of liaising with suppliers for control system software development.
Experience of using IBM DOORS to author and maintain requirements
In order to be successful in this role, candidates require both hard technical skills and soft skills e.g. negotiation, team working.
