The Role:
Lead development and implementation of automatic transmission Calibration & Objective Driveability Measurement methodology for required applications (Dual clutch & Torque converter automatic transmissions). Co-ordinate driveability targets & requirements, cascade & validation. Verify all attribute targets have been met to appropriate degree at programme checkpoints. Support the transmission development and execution of development work plans (Calibration shift scheduling & quality). Ensure facilities and test vehicles/equipment are available to support work plan. Develop and maintain consistency with Trans supplier GFT, Ford VEME, FNA A/T core group & Man trans sub group on appropriate methodology & documentation for driveability measurement. Lead driveability related TGW / quality feedback investigations & development improvement plans. Support vehicle launch phase, management drive event.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of PT driveability development, engine and/or transmission calibration would be an advantage. Understand the principles and dynamic characteristics of Automatic Transmissions, shift schedules, Internal Combustion engines (Petrol and Diesel), driveline systems and installation systems. Knowledge of the major powertrain attributes; PF&DS, Fuel Economy, Exhaust emissions, E and TOBD, Drivability and Shift Quality. Knowledge of vehicle P/T ECU calibration development & integration Development procedures. Knowledge of ECU and vehicle P/T CAN Development tools (INCA, ATI, etc). Development project planning and status reporting. Knowledge of Ford GPDS, WERS & IVS would be an advantage.
PT development & calibration/tuning. Usage of PC based CAN development tools, vehicle calibration tools.
Degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Automotive engineering or Controls/Computing or equivalent

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of automatic Powertrains, vehicle sub-systems, electrical systems, controls system
