Development Engineer - Powertrain
Job Description

Our Client has secured a further year's work from a third patry OEM to provide 12 test cells for variants of several engine families (both gasoline and diesel). Engines will be tested to a variety of procedures ranging from 50 hours to 2000 hours duration. After test, each engine will be stripped and examined.

The existing team of 4 Development Engineers requires increasing to 5 Development Engineers due to the increased workload from 2 extra test cells and more the complex nature of the testing requested by the client. Those engineers will supervise technicians dynamometer testing and stripping engines. The engineers will also be responsible for test and strip data collation and analysis, examination, measurement and rating of the components for their post test conditions.

Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria):

Ability to:
Organise, oversee and support engine dynamometer testing
Instruct engine strip/ test technicians
Examine end of test condition of engine components and rate them
Collate strip data into folders for transfer to the client database
Prepare and present engine test and strip data to clients
