The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Playing a key role in the fast-paced delivery of Automated Driving across the product range, this Development Engineer role offers a great opportunity for someone to work in this exciting and challenging area of the Automotive Industry. The successful candidate will support the development and definition of future Automated Driving Features and will be responsible for capturing the desired customer experience for these features. The key responsibilities of the Development Engineer are to: Create new Automated Driving Features, employing the principles of System Engineering to develop the use-models and capture the customer requirements. Develop design validation methods for the validation of Automated Driving Features. Support the specification of vehicle programme specific targets for Automated Driving Features. Identify future features and desired behaviours through competitor benchmarking and innovation workshops. Support the Automated Driving Technical Lead in gathering and analysing data to help define our Global Customer Requirements.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Application of System Engineering practises, requirements capture and validation. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and a strategic thinker with an ability to think "out of the box" in specifying and developing new features. Excellent team-working and communication skills, enthusiastic and with a strong Customer Focus. Self-motivated and able to work to a high standard with minimum supervision. At least 3 years of Product Development experience, working on complex interacting systems. Relevant industries could include; Automotive, Aerospace, Maritime, Defence, Consumer Electronics. Knowledge of ADAS Systems, Automotive Sensors, Data Fusion, Control Systems, or Human Factors. Educated to Degree level in a relevant discipline.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of SysML (or similar) would be advantageous. Knowledge of system modelling and simulation tools such as IBM Rhapsody and/or Matlab Simulink. Experience of parking systems would be advantageous.
