The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This role creates tools which allow vehicle target setting and sign off to happen more quickly, accurately and efficiently. It's within the vehicle engineering organisation's off-road and all road capability team. The team comprises 7 persons. The tools need to be applied either in physical vehicle or CAE tests. Activities include designing appropriate tests, data gathering, analysis & reporting. Recent examples have been a data mine to interrogate logged vehicle data for specific manoeuvres. Another has been the automation of data analyse to provide vehicle sign-off evidence. The role has 4 small customer groups to gather requirements from, collaborate and deliver to. You will need a proactive approach, balance need for strategic work with tactical/urgent tasks. This would suit someone who can apply the appropriate level rigour whilst taking measured risks.

Additional Information:
The ability to work in other countries for short periods of time - must have a valid passport. Some UK activities will require staying away from base location - i.e. remote test locations. In addition there will be a requirement to travel overseas to various locations for short/medium durations (up to 1-2 weeks duration potentially)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. Science or Engineering degree
2. At least one year’s industrial experience (outside of academic environment).
3. MATLAB or similar user

Highly self-motivated engineer with proven interpersonal communication/networking skills.
Proven project and time management skills and able to work to a high standard with minimum supervision.
Used MATLAB or similar to deliver task in industry environment. Ideally min 2 yrs in an appropriate industry (transport engineering, computing, science)
Educated to Degree Level, in an appropriate/related Engineering or Science subject

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Vehicle Engineering.
Vehicle Chassis and powertrain knowledge
Off-road or off highway transport experience inc Terramechanics
Physical test development/validation
Measurement systems, data Logging and analysis
Vehicle (or complex system) simulation - CAe, e.g SIMPACK
Hold a clean full UK driving Licence.
