The Company:
Client is a St. John’s based company that is incorporated under the laws of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Client, a privately held company headquartered in Paris, France. -Client also operates a sister company, in the Province of Québec. Client is currently exploring as Operator in both the Western Newfoundland Onshore and the Offshore in the Hopedale Basin (Labrador Shelf).
In order to manage its growth as an exploration player in Newfoundland

The Role:
The person will report to the Technical Manager and will act as a team player within the G&G
Team.
The Position, based in St John’s NL, has the following main responsibilities:
- Provide geological support to the G&G team on all assets;
- Responsible of all geological related reports/submissions.

The Development Geologist will have the following responsibilities that include the following specific duties without order of preference:
- Onsite Supervision for all critical phases during drilling activities
- Interpretation of Well Logs;;
- Review/Update the 3D geological model;
- Liaise with vendors for external analysis on cores (RCAL/SCAL), fluid, geochemistry and PVTs;
- Review the exploration plans for all the licences;
- Provide input on exploration strategies

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in Earth Science, preferably with MSc or PhD; experience in reservoir geology, normally gained through several years (7 years +) in the petroleum industry:
- Experience in seismic mapping and interpretation is preferred;
- Excellent understanding of sedimentary basin and modern technologies, particularly in the context of heavy or viscous oils in low permeability reservoirs;
- Fluent with petrophysical interpretration and 3D geological modeling software;
- Strong team and communication skills capable of working in a small dynamic company environment;
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador is required.
