The Company:
The GEOPHYSICIST will be based in Madrid, integrated in the Colombia Development Department and will report to the Subsurface Support Team Leader. The Subsurface support team is supporting other teams in Madrid and Bogota for overflow or more study related tasks and quality control.

The Role:
Carry out robust seismic interpretations in a variety of different structural settings (from Los Llanos foreland Basin to the complex Upper Magdalena Valley).
•Perform depth conversion and generation of maps used in and development projects and in some cases exploration projects.
•Participate in the field evaluation process, including risking, volumetric estimates and supporting new possible well locations.
•Validation of other partners geophysical interpretations and maps.
•Implement the use of modern seismic interpretation techniques and best practices in the daily work-process.
•Provide technical advice and QC on any seismic acquisition design.
•Integrate and align the work with other disciplines such Geology and Reservoir Engineering.
•Mentor, coach and train junior colleagues

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Minimum bachelor degree in Geology or equivalent engineering degree in Geoscience, preferably MSc or higher
•More than 10 years’ experience in geophysics
•Proficiency in Petrel software (preferable also in other packages, such as Discovery, Seisworks, etc.)
•Good communication and relationship skills, both inside and outside the company
•Ability to work autonomously and to be a self-starter
•Good analytical and innovation skills
•Good mentoring abilities to interact with junior colleagues
•Working knowledge in English is essential, knowledge of Spanish will be well regarded
•Occasional travel to Bogota, Colombia.
